Test Procedure
Please refer to the instructions leaflet provided with the kit. Some accessories may change depending on your country.
Using Simtomax ® is very easy. The assay is recommended for 25µl capillary whole blood obtained by finger pinprick. Venous whole blood can also be used.
EDTA plasma, heparin plasma, or serum samples can be used as well with a reduced volume of 20µl.
Do not use frozen whole blood samples, grossly haemolysed or turbid plasma/serum samples.
- If you run the assay with whole blood collected with the accessories provided with the kit, start at step 1.
- If you run the assay with plasma, serum or venous whole blood collected by your own means, start at step 5.

Open the plastic pouch and prepare the necessary test accessories prior to testing:
- 1 sterile blood lancet
- 1 alcohol-soaked swab
- 1 plastic pipette
- 1 plastic buffer bottle
- 1 adhesive plaster.
Clean the test site, e.g. the finger tip with the alcohol-soaked swab
|
| |
|
Remove the protective green cap from the lancet. Make sure the safety window is green.
|
| |
|
Place the open end of the lancet on the finger tip, as indicated. Press the trigger to activate the lancet mechanism. Gently massage the finger in the direction of the finger tip in order to produce a droplet of blood on the test site.
|
| |
|
Hold the plastic pipette horizontally and touch the blood sample with the tip of the pipette. Repeat the action until blood reaches the fill line. This corresponds to the volume of blood required to run the test.
|
| |
|
Deposit the sample into the outer window of the test device.
If using the pipette provided with the kit, expel the blood sample by squeezing the bulb of the pipette.
Wait 30 seconds.
|
| |
|
After 30 seconds, lift the test device lid and immediately add 5 drops (or 200µl) of buffer into the circular port. Keeping the lid open, allow the test to run and leave the test device on a flat surface.
DO NOT CLOSE THE LID WHILE RUNNING THE TEST!
Wait 10 minutes before reading the results.

Results Interpretation
