Chief Executive Officer - Thierry Duvanel

Thierry holds both Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL). Prior to founding Augurix, Thierry co-founded a project management consulting business in South Korea, expanding it into Japan, China and the UK. Previously, he held principal consultant positions at Rational Software (acquired by IBM) where he developed the West-Switzerland market. Thierry is specialized in the organization and management of large and complex projects, initially with focus on process engineering, business process analysis and program and portfolio management. During his 15 years of experience, his portfolio of customers included large and multinational companies in different fields of activities such as Samsung, Sony, Huawei, UBS, Atradius and national and trans-national government organizations.

Chief Scientific Officer - Dr. Cecile Besson Duvanel

Cecile holds an MD and a PhD from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. She was awarded a fellowship from the Roche Research Foundation in Basel for her PhD thesis and, prior to co-founding Augurix, she trained as a pediatrician, developed an expertise in immunology and worked for a Contract Research Organization as a clinical project manager, driving several clinical trials in the medical device space. She has been awarded several international distinctions for her research, including the Milupa Neonatology Award and the Prof Combe Award, and she has authored more than 15 scientific publications in international, peer-reviewed journals.

Chief Operating Officer - Jean-Pierre Besson

Jean-Pierre holds a Masters Degree in Physics from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. During his career of over 30 years, Jean-Pierre has held manufacturing management and production management positions within the Nestle group in Belgium, Brazil, the US and Switzerland. From 1992 until 1996, he supervised the integration of the newly acquired UK-based Rowntree business into the Nestle group. He successfully led the operations of Nestle in Russia from 1996 until 2001 and his last role was to manage the technical and manufacturing plants in Eastern Europe (across Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary). During his career, he has accumulated an extensive experience in engineering and manufacturing.
